Singapore’s A*Star Unveils New Industrial Additive Manufacturing Sharing Facility

(StraitsTimes) A new sharing scheme set up Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star) was unveiled was unveiled at A*Star’s new Industrial Additive Manufacturing Facility yesterday. Companies will be able to use 19 different types of equipment at the facility, including robotised 3D scanners and high-pressure cold sprays, to carry out projects and train workers. They may even be able to acquire machines to scale up operations and expand once technical capabilities have been built up.
The new scheme will help local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) keep up with the competition as manufacturing goes high-end, said Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development Koh Poh Koon.
