Caterpillar and FIT AG Partner to 3D-Print Aluminum and Titanium Parts

(3Ders.org)  Caterpillar Inc. has announced a three-year partnership with German additive manufacturing company FIT AG to work together to design and 3D print aluminum and titanium parts destined for Caterpillar’s large-scale construction machinery. Through the new partnership with additive manufacturing solutions provider FIT AG, Caterpillar will seek to benefit further from 3D printing, specifically in the heavy manufacturing sector.
FIT AG is one of Germany’s leading providers of rapid prototyping services and additive manufacturing solutions. The company, which was founded in 1995, has grown to employ 250 people and has operations in its home of Lupburg, as well as Hamburg, Germany, and in Boston.
