(FedWeek)  A team of Army engineers produced a grenade launcher and grenade using a 3D printer, and then successfully used the weapon to fire the round.
“This demonstration shows that additive manufacturing (commonly known as 3D printing) has a potential future in weapon prototype development, which could allow engineers to provide munitions to soldiers more quickly,” said Seung kook “Sunny” Burns and James Zudino, in an article published by the U.S. Army Acquisition Support Center.
